Mission Statement
The mission of Colorado MESA is to enable and increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students throughout Colorado to graduate from college and successfully pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Corporate Donation Information
Thank you for your interest in sponsorship opportunities with Colorado MESA. By sponsoring one or more of the following events, you will:

Colorado MESA science and engineering competitions provide students, parents, advisors and supporters with a series of hands-on, engineering, science and mathematics related competitions, exhibits and presentations. At each of the engineering competitions, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their skill, knowledge, and creativity in the fields of science, mathematics, engineering, teamwork and communication as a result of participating in the Colorado MESA Program over the past years.
Sponsorhsip Opportunities
The following annual Colorado MESA events are available for corporate sponsorships. Within each event, many other opportunities exist to help brand your company's name.
Middle School MESA Day
This popular event attracts over 500 middle school students each year. Prior to the event, students work on science and engineering projects including mousetrap powered cars to balsa wood bridges. At the event, students compete with their projects for medallions and trophies. Students participate in 9 competitions designed to test their ability to work in teams to solve problems and design all kinds of items including a medieval trebuchet. Recommended donation: $10,000.
High School Engineering and Science Competiton
High school students from all over Colorado compete in events including Web Site Design, Mathematics, Straw Tower Contest, Impromptu Challenge, the Helicopter Egg Drop and many others. All events are designed to encourage and develop creative and analytical skills. University of Colorado at Denver will host the Jamboree in 2010. Recommended donation: $15,000.
SHPE/MESA/CU MEP Summer Camp
Colorado MESA and the University of Colorado at Boulder Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP), in conjunction with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers present the SHPE Summer Camp, sponsored by IBM. The camp is a four-day residential program intended to motivate, encourage and inform incoming Hispanic 9th and 10th grade high school students about the educational and career opportunities in math, science, and engineering.
Participants will attend college prep and career workshops, tour the university, engineering facilities and science labs conducting state-of-the-art research, conduct exciting math, engineering and science activities and experiments, and participate in mind-challenging mini-competitions for prizes and awards presented at the Awards Luncheon. On the last day of the camp, parents will be invited to attend workshops, the awards luncheon and closing ceremony. Recommended donation: $15,000.
MESA MARK (Advisor Retreat and Kick Off)
The MARK professional development event kicks-off the new academic year for Colorado MESA. MARK provides a series of workshops, trainings, presentations and networking opportunities for Colorado MESA advisors (math and science teachers). Through MARK, advisors learn new teaching and motivational strategies; receive academic enrichment materials and information; increase their awareness of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology related careers and the academic preparation required for entering STEM related fields; network and exchange ideas with colleagues; and interact with university, industry, and governmental agency personnel. Recommended donation: $5,000.
High School Fall Fling
This two-day event held on the University of Colorado campus is designed to give students a taste of an university student's lifestyle and as well as provide valuable academic, financial aid, and career information. Two competitions, the traditional Boat Building Competition and the MESA USA Engineering and Design Competition, test students' creativity and design skills. Recommended donation: $5,000.
Mentor Program (ongoing)
Our mentor program provides an opportunity for Colorado MESA students and advisors to interact with mentors (college/university students, retired engineers and engineering professionals) in the field of mathematics, engineering, science and technology. Mentors provide leadership skills and serve as a role model for students, assist MESA advisors with hands-on activities and developing projects for the local/statewide/national competitions. Sponsor an academic year of mentoring for $10,000.
